We've been getting pranks calls recently and it's really getting on my parents nerves.

I got one at 01:47 in the morning, however I was awake then so it was alright, but it annoyed the hell out of my parents. It was just the other guy repeatedly saying hello and repeating whatever I said.

is there anyway to find out their number when they have withheld it.

After they call you, you dial *69. And it tells you their phone number.

But it occurs to me that you're British (right?) so it wouldn't work anyway. But Wikipedia says you have its equivalent.

The equivalent here is 1471. But Tiddles said they withheld their number, so that won't help.

I got a plugin for Firefox called Speed Dial. It makes it so when you open a new tab you get a grid with web pages of your choosing on there, and you pick the one you want.
Once you have it, you hit Ctrl-(corresponding number) and it zooms you right there. Or there's Ctrl-Shift-(number), which opens it in a new tab.
